DSF Grand Noir 2020

Youngest representative of the sixth generation of the family that has presided over the fortunes of José Maria da Fonseca since its foundation, Domingos Soares Franco is, in addition to being vice-president, the winemaker of this house, and therefore an unavoidable reference in the wine panorama of the region and the country.

Although he subscribes to all José Maria da Fonseca wines, there are some that he reserves for himself as special. He called them Domingos Soares Franco – Private Collection.

Regarding its tasting notes, this is recognised for its deep red colour with some brownish hints, having an aroma of dark chocolate, guava and cedar, together with its taste of dark chocolate, guava and black plum, thus acquiring a very balanced palate with a very long finish.

The grapes used in the production of this wine do not use wood, as they are fermented in stainless steel lagares at a temperature of 28ºC for 10 days, being bottled after 8 months without being filtered or cold stabilised. To be enjoyed at its best, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16ºC, accompanying game products and soft cheeses, bearing in mind that this can create a deposit.
