DSF Malbec 2017
- Description
Youngest representative of the sixth generation of the family that has presided over the fortunes of José Maria da Fonseca since its foundation, Domingos Soares Franco is, in addition to being vice-president, the winemaker of this house, and therefore an unavoidable reference in the wine panorama of the region and the country.
Although he subscribes to all José Maria da Fonseca wines, there are some that he reserves for himself as special. He called them Domingos Soares Franco – Private Collection.
As for the tasting notes, this is recognized for its deep red color, presenting an aroma of blackberries, dates, black cherry, mint, having a young and elegant touch, combined with the fruity, austere flavor, present and even complex tannins, thus acquiring a very balanced palate with a medium/long finish.
The grapes used in the production of this wine are trodden by foot in circular stainless-steel mills. The 2017 harvest presented immense adversities such as drought and extreme heat, however it also presents exceptional quality.
To be fully enjoyed, this wine should be served at a temperature of 14ºC, accompanied by game products and soft cheeses.
