Domingos Soares Franco, is the youngest representative of the sixth generation of the family, who has presided over the destinies of José Maria da Fonseca since its foundation. In addition to being vice-president, he is the winemaker of this house, and is therefore an unavoidable reference in the wine panorama of the region and the country.

Although he subscribes to all José Maria da Fonseca wines, there are some that he reserves for himself as special. They reflect his creative spirit, the passion he feels for viticulture and oenology, and the influence he has from the New World. He called them Domingos Soares Franco – Private Collection.

With the same enthusiasm and passion with which he has developed his oenological experiments, Domingos Soares Franco once again presents the Colecção Privada Verdelho 2012: a variety that he has been studying for some time in the Ampelographic Collection at Quinta de Camarate. This wine is the result of the experiences he had during his trips to the southern hemisphere, adapting it to the style that he liked most in the various tastings carried out in Australia.

As for the tasting notes, this is recognized for its citrus yellow color, presenting a fresh aroma, with a touch of lantanas and exotic fruits, combined with the flavor of exotic fruits and green tea that gives it a long and fresh taste. The vinification of this wine involves must fermented in stainless steel at 16ºC. To be fully enjoyed, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8ºC.
